DATE: Victorian, c.1880

Incredible Victorian cigar band set with a vibrant opal cabochon with the words "AS EVER, FOREVER" in relief around the band. A beautiful sentiment, akin to the popular AEI (amity, eternity, infinity) seen on sentimental Victorian pieces, but one I've never seen before. It's crafted in 15 karat gold throughout, dating from the 1880s.
