C.1880. A Victorian blue enamel horseshoe locket. The locket is made of 15k yellow gold, and the front shows a beautiful blue enamel work while the back panel is engraved with a horseshoe and a shield. In Victorian symbolism, a horseshoe represents 'good luck', and it has 7 nails on it for 'lucky seven'. The locket currently holds a sepia photographs of a lady, and it can easily be removed if desired. It opens and closes with a snap, and overall the locket is in great condition without missing any enamel work.
